Collective madness. It's all around us. We're always in a hurry, chasing our goals. Always late to be somewhere, never enough time to live. Are they "our goals", really? Or just what our environs have conditioned us to be, to want, to believe?
We've killed each other by the millions because we couldn't agree to disagree. We turn on others because their skin isn't quite the right shade, prejudiced because their accent isn't as suave as we'd like it to be. We let ourselves be poisoned, let our minds degenerate, let unthinkable atrocities be committed before our very eyes - and we don't lift a finger. We're self-destructively impassive, yet we have the lucidity to ask for the correct change.
Just as there is a folie à deux, there is a folie à millions*

What profound thoughts! Hope Auckland has enough to feed your mind? Then again being the global citizens that we are, you could always visit Citizen's News!!!
best!
Well, Auckland has its quirks :) Many thanks for the link!
So true.. globally and locally. Nicely put Scribbler.. you sure know how to scribble with eloquence.. Also thanks for sharing the phrase "folie à deux", I didn't know there was such a serious psycho disorder until I looked it up.
